Optimal Guessing Strategies in a Quantum Card Game
نویسندگان
چکیده
Three different quantum cards which are non-orthogonal quantum bits are sent to two different players, Alice and Bob, randomly. Alice receives one of the three cards, and Bob receives the remaining two cards. We find that Bob could know better than Alice does on guessing Alice’s card, no matter what Bob chooses to measure his two cards collectively or separately. We also find that Bob’s best strategy for guessing Alice’s card is to measure his two cards collectively. Typeset using REVTEX [email protected] [email protected] 1

A Monogamy-of-Entanglement Game With Applications to Device-Independent Quantum Cryptography
We consider a game in which two separate laboratories collaborate to prepare a quantum system and are then asked to guess the outcome of a measurement performed by a third party in a random basis on that system. Intuitively, by the uncertainty principle and the monogamy of entanglement, the probability that both players simultaneously succeed in guessing the outcome correctly is bounded. We are...
متن کاملAn Introduction To Guessing
Some interesting results on a guessing wiretapper’s performance on a Shannon cipher system are summarized. The performance metrics are exponents of guessing moments and probability of large deviations. Connections with compression and the game of twenty questions are discussed. Asymptotic optimality of guessing attacks based on Lempel-Ziv coding lengths is highlighted.

The effect of increasing quantum bits and Unruh effect on quantum Prisoners’ dilemma has been investigated for both entangled and unentangled initial states. The Nash equilibrium, as an important result of quantum game theory, was obtained through the different payoffs resulted from choosing various strategies. It has been shown that the non-inertial frame disturbs the symmetry of the game. Act...
متن کاملGuessing Games
In a guessing game, players guess the value of a random real number selected using some probability density function. The winner may be determined in various ways; for example, a winner can be a player whose guess is closest in magnitude to the target, or a winner can be a player coming closest without guessing higher than the target. We study optimal strategies for players in these games and d...
متن کاملGuessing in Multiple Choice Questions: Challenges and Strategies
Introduction: Guessing is one of the most challenging issues in multiple choice questions. Several strategies, such as negative scoring, have been suggested for preventing students from choosing the right answer just by chance. However, there is no general agreement on using such strategies. The aim of this study was to review the scoring methods which are used for reducing guessing, and evalua...
